Newborn  experience

Images that you will cherish for a life time…

If you have found yourself on my page and are looking for a photographer to capture your precious newborn baby you are in the right place. Firstly, I would like to say Congratulations! You have such an exciting time ahead of you. Please feel free to have a look around my website to see if I am the right fit for you. My style is simple, pure, natural and most of all white. I like to capture your baby as they truly are by removing all distractions and focusing on the connection between you all.  If you feel that we would be a good match, and this is what you are looking for then I would be delighted to capture beautiful images of your family!

Baby Led…

All of my sessions are baby led. This means that your baby will lay how they are most comfortable with only some light movement/posing. This can be done whilst your baby is asleep or awake. There is no pressure here to have your baby sleep at all. However your baby is on the day I will photograph them as they are. I do not use props, your baby is enough. Photographing just your baby without any big props means that they are the main focus of your images.

I like to think that your session with me is like spending time with a friend. I am there to capture the love and connection between your family but will also take time to chat, have a coffee and cake and share your experience of parenthood so far. I only ever photograph one baby a day so you will never be rushed. There will be plenty time for feeding, changing and cuddles.

I really want you to relax and enjoy the full experience. I love taking the time to get to know my clients from their first enquiry right through to delivery and even after. Many of my clients leave my studio as friends and I love watching all of their babies grow and reach many different milestones in their lives.

My aim as a photographer is to provide you with beautiful, natural and timeless images of your baby that you can look back on and remember just how tiny they really were. Authentic images that can be displayed perfectly in any room of your home.

Ideally your session will take place when your baby is between 7-21 days old but please don’t worry if you have missed that stage as due to the natural style of my photography I can also photograph older newborns. I highly recommend booking in with your due date after your 20 week scan or earlier if possible. This will ensure that you have a session booked for when your baby arrives. When your baby does arrive I ask that you send me a message to let me know and then we can arrange the exact day and time for your session. I only book a certain amount of newborn sessions each month so that I can allow space for early and late arrivals. For those of you that have just found me and have already had your baby I do sometimes have last minute availability so please do contact me and I will do my best to try and fit you in.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I prepare for my session?

A. Before coming for your session it is helpful that you try and keep your baby awake. This will hopefully give me a sleepy baby to photograph. Don’t worry though if your baby decides to have a sleep and is not sleepy for their session thats no problem, I can still capture some beautiful awake images for you.

If you could please feed your baby before you come for your session and dress them in a simple white vest. Don’t worry I have plenty spare incase of any accidents. When choosing an outfit for them could you please choose something which has poppers and can be easily removed (ideally nothing that has to be taken over their head) this means we don’t need to disturb them as much when undressing them.

What do I need to bring to the session?

A.Please bring your normal baby bag with your babies nappies, wipes and bottles if you are not breast feeding. I recommend that you bring 3 times the amount of formula than your baby usually needs just incase. A full change of clothes for baby incase of any accidents and a sterilised dummy if you are using one. I do have some wipes and nappies available in the studio in case you forget.

Drinks and light snacks will be on offer but do feel free to bring your own if you would rather.

What should we wear?

A.

My aim is to create beautiful timeless images for you and I would love for you to be included in them. I suggest that all clients wear light colours. Whites definitely work best. If not white neutral colours such as light grey will be ok. Please avoid any logos, bold prints, children’s characters and patterns etc. I will send you out a more in depth style guide when you book your session.

The studio needs to be kept warm for your baby so I would suggest wearing layers so that they can be removed if you get too hot. Natural unpainted nails look best in the close up more detailed images so I would recommend that you avoid any brightly coloured polish. Feel free to bring along your make up bag to freshen yourself up.

The studio has a no shoe policy and you will be asked to remove them on entry. Please feel free to bring some slippers or slipper socks if you don’t feel comfortable in your bare feet.

Can my other children be included in the session?

A. Of course! I love nothing more than capturing children with their new sibling. The sessions may be long so it is recommended that if possible they come near the end of the session. If this is not possible then please bring some snacks and toys for them to play with while waiting. We can try and include them as much as possible.

When and how will we see our images?

A. Around 1-2 weeks after your session I will invite you back to my studio to view your images. This is when you will order and pay for your chosen collection and any wall art that you would like to purchase.

*Please note – your payment is required at the time of ordering*

Can I take my own images during the session?

A. I do not mind you taking some behind the scenes images/videos of myself working with your baby but I ask that you please do not take any other images during your session.
